Prasthanam Teaser Out: Sanjay Dutt Gets His Best Ever Birthday Gift

The makers of Prasthanam has finally dropped the teaser of Sanjay Dutt’s upcoming film Prasthanam on his 60th birthday. The movie Prasthanam is a remake of the 2010 Telugu film of the same name, which was written and directed by Deva Katta. The original version of Prasthanam featured Sharwanand, Sai Kumar, Sundeep Kishan and Ruby Parihar in lead roles.

The Telugu movie Prasthanam turned out to be hit and received three Filmfare Awards. It was also selected for screening in the Indian Panorama section at International Film Festival of India, Goa. The Hindi version of Prasthanam features Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Ali Fazal, Manisha Koirala, Amyra Dastur in lead roles.

Speaking about the film Prasthanam, the director of the film Deva Katta had told news agency PTI,  “Sanjay Dutt got interested in the project, which was in 2011-2012 within one-two years of (its) release. In between he went to jail and then came back and the follow up (from their end) was passionate regarding the film. I was interested because of the intensity of interest from his side.”

Deva Katta has given credits Manyata Dutt for putting together the film, who is also producing it under their banner Sanjay Dutt Productions. The original film tells the story of a politician and the complicated relations prevailing in his family.

Prasthanam is all set to hit the theatres on September 20.
