Rejecting the allegation levelled against his company in relation to the deal as “baseless, ill-informed and unfortunate,” Mr. Anil said that truth alone will prevail” because the charges are driven by “malicious vested interests and corporate rivals,” reported the Press Trust of India.

On asked as to why he did not include the Congress President Rahul Gandhi in the 5000 crore defamation case filed by his company on the Rafale deal, Anil said:

“I have personally written to Gandhi stating that the Congress has been misinformed, misdirected and misled on the Rafale deal by malicious vested interest and corporate rivals,” he was quoted as saying by the news agency after announcing the completion of the sale of RInfra’s power business in Mumbai to the Adani group for Rs 18,800-crore.

The when questioned if he would actually file any defamation suit against Gandhi when the need arises, Anil dismissed it by saying that “all the allegations are as baseless, ill-informed and unfortunate.”

Earlier, Rahul Gandhi had accused the BJP of misinforming the people about the Rafale deal, to which Arun Jaitley had called the Congress President as “peddling in untruth.”
