Rashmika Mandanna To Make Her Bollywood Debut With Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Mystery Thriller?
Rashmika Mandanna will next be seen making her Bollywood debut opposite Randeep Hooda
Rashmika Mandanna, who mainly appears in Tamil and Kannada film, has been approached by Sanjay Leela Bhansali for her Bollywood debut, reported Pinkvila. The Southern beauty has delivered several commercially successful movies such as Kirik Party (2016), Anjani Putra (2017), Chamak (2017), Chalo (2018), Geetha Govindam (2018) and Yajamana (2019). After giving so many success movies, she has become one of the most south actresses of South movies.
Rashmika Mandanna has already two Telugu movies in her kitty. According to Pinkvilla, Rashmika is currently on talking terms with Sanjay Leela Bhansali but has not given her final call yet. In the untitled mystery thriller, Randeep Hooda will play the lead role and shooting of the film is likely to go on floors in August this year.
The report has not mentioned Mandanaa’s role in SLB’s next film but she has been reading the script and yet to sign the dotted lines. Well, with many South Indian celebs making their way to Bollywood and vice-versa, it will be interesting to see what’s character Rashmika Mandanna will play in her Hindi film debut.
Notably, Mandanna is among a very few Tollywood actresses to enter RS 100 crore club in a short span. She made her acting debut in Telugu Cinema with a romantic drama titled Chalo in 2018, the film turned out to be blockbuster. In the same year, she was featured in the rom-com film Geetha Govindam, which has become one of the all-time highest profit earners in the history of Telugu cinema, which earned her fame and recognition.
According to Mumbai Mirror, the film is a mystery thriller with comic undertones and is set in a small town. It marks the directorial debut of Balwinder Singh Janjua, who has earlier written several films such as Mubarakan, and Fijrangi.
“Randeep plays a cop in the film which has a lot of twists and turns. Balwinder has been working on the script for a long time and recently started pre-production. He will start the recce shortly,” the source told Mumbai Mirror.
