Watch: Rishabh Pant’s wild birthday celebration with the Indian Test team

Rishabh Pant celebrated his 21^st birthday with the Indian national team following an exhilarating opening day against the West Indies in the opening Test at the Saurashtra Cricket Association stadium in Rajkot on Thursday.

In a video shared on Instagram by the wicket-keeper, Pant can be seen cutting the birthday cake before it is smashed into his face by his teammates led by Mohammad Siraj. The ‘cake smash’ has sort of become a ritual in the Indian dressing room, where, in almost every birthday, the birthday-boy is covered in cake.

Earlier, India had dominated the entire of the opening day at Rajkot with debutant Prithvi Shaw marking his first Test match, with a brilliant century. It made him the youngest Indian to score a debut Test ton and the fourth youngest overall.

At the end of day 1, India posted 364/4 with skipper Virat Kohli (72) and Pant (21) at the crease.
