Rishabh Pant named captain of Delhi Capitals, Suresh Raina reacts

Ever since Delhi Capitals have announced Rishab Pant as their captain. The Indian cricketer has been trending on social media since last night. Pant won accolades for his fine batting performance in T 20 and ODI series against England. This will be Rishabh Pant’s debut as IPL captain. Fans and friends soon took to social media and congratulated the fine player.

Pant’s colleagues from the cricket fraternity too wished him the best. Shreyas Iyer and CSK batsman Suresh Raina were some of the ones who extended their good wishes to the left-hander for IPL.

Shreyas Iyer who has been leading Delhi Capitals was ruled out due to his shoulder injury. He congratulated Pant and said he had ‘no doubts’ the wicketkeeper-batsman would be the ‘best man to do the job in his absence. He added that Pant has all his good wishes.

Suresh Raina too wished Pant with a Tweet. He wrote, “Heartiest congratulations to @RishabhPant17 on being named the captain of
@DelhiCapitalsfor this season. I am sure he will be a talismanic leader and will be donning this new cap with pride.”

Raina feels wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant would be a talismanic leader for DC.

When asked about his appointment as DC skipper an elated Pant said, “To lead this team one day is a dream I’ve always harboured. And today, as that dream comes true, I feel humbled. I can’t wait to give my absolute best for Delhi Capitals.”
