Saaho box office collection Day 1: Prabhas’ movie to earn Rs 24 crore on its opening day
Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor opening day collection was expected Rs 60-70 crore but the film could not break Mission Mangal's record
Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Saaho is finally out and it has managed to earn Rs 24 crore on its opening day. The first-day box office collection of Saaho is INR 24 crore which is way lower than the expected amount. Yes, there were reports stating that Saaho’s first-day box office collection would be between Rs 60 to 70 crore.
The film has managed to create a lot of buzz over the months and it was expected to open with a bang and break the records of Thugs of Hindostan (Rs 52.25 crore), Avengers Endgame (Rs 53 crore), Happy New Year (Rs 44.97 crore) and Bharat (Rs 42.30 crore).
The film has received mixed reviews from both critics and fans alike. According to reports, hundreds of theatres had to cancel their morning shows becuase of unavailability of the print. Thousands of fans who thought of watching Saaho first day first show had to return without catching up the morning show. That could be the reason why Saaho could not break Thugs of Hindostan’s record and ended up the fifth-best advance of the year after Bharat, Mission Mangal, Kabir Singh and Kalank.
If the copies of Saaho were delivered on time, Prabhas and Shraddha’s film would have probably been the third-best of the year. According to DNA, around two thousand prints weren’t received by the owners of several leading multiplex chains across the country. Advance tickets sold whopping Rs 8.50 crore nett collections for the film, reported Box Office India.
Talking about earlier prediction, trade analyst Girish Johar told Times Now, “The hype surrounding the film is unprecedented. The response to the advance booking is phenomenal. In fact, in Andhra Pradesh, the government has allowed midnight screenings as well, which will definitely be a big boost for its business. The craze is fantabulous down South.”
