Ace tennis player and socialite Sania Mirza and Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik welcomed a baby boy on Tuesday early morning. The celebrity couple has unveiled the name of their first child — Izhaan Malik on Wednesday.

The first name – Izhaan, whose meaning is God’s gift in Arabic. The couple has been blessed with a baby boy, Izhaan Mirza Malik— as they truly think he is God’s gift for them. According to a report, the baby is healthy and weighs 3.5 kg.
In an earlier interview, sharing how they are preparing for the upcoming sleepless nights and changing diapers of their child, Sania had remarked, Sania Mirza had said, “I have already spent quite a few sleepless nights due to the discomforts I feel during the third trimester of pregnancy, though changing diapers may be a new chore which I am actually looking forward to!” She went on to say, “I think motherhood prepares one automatically and very naturally for the most important phase in a woman’s life. A lot has changed in the last few months and I know a lot more will change in the coming days, but most of it has happened without me making too much of a conscious effort.”
Notably, the six-time Grand Slam champion has given birth to a baby boy in Hyderabad Deccan, India. While announcing the auspicious birth of his first child on his Twitter handle, Pakistani cricket star Shoaib Malik said, “Excited and mother and baby are doing well.” He also thanked everyone for their wishes and prayers.
In a tweet, the cricketer said, “Excited to announce: Its a boy, and my girl is doing great and keeping strong as usual #Alhumdulilah. Thank you for the wishes and Duas, we are humbled ?? #BabyMirzaMalik.”

Shoaib Malik’s manager and agent, Ameem Haq also tweeted that the Pakistani cricketer was ‘over the moon’ to welcome their first child. “#BabyMirzaMalik boy is here! Baby and mother are all smiles, the dad is over the moon,” he tweeted.

In the meantime, filmmaker and close friend of Sania, Farah Khan took to her Instagram and shared the good news with fans.
Farah wrote: “Finally!! Best news in a long time!! Congratulations @mirzasaniar @realshoaibmalik @anammirzaaa @imranmirza58 n of course the nani n daadi ️god bless our lil angel (sic).”
Sania announced her pregnancy on social media on April 23, 2018. Sania had earlier revealed that the baby would have the names of both father and the mother, contrary to the tradition of the child carrying the father’s surname.
The ace shuttler married Shoaib on April 12, 2010 in a traditional Hyderabadi Muslim wedding ceremony at the Taj Krishna Hotel in Hyderabad.
