What! Shahid Kapoor is being paid 35 crore for the Jersey Hindi remake?
Shahid Kapoor also asks for a profit share for his next - the Hindi remake of Nani starrer Jersey.
Shahid Kapoor has not yet made a formal announcement about his upcoming film. It was earlier said that Shahid will act in the Hindi remake of another Telugu film called Jersey, which will be bankrolled by Aman Gill, Allu Arjun, and producer Dil Raju. In the original version of Jersey, Nani played the lead role.
According to a report in Pinkvilla: “He wanted to take a small break to spend time with his family. He and Rashmika Mandanna will be doing the film together and it will be a start to finish film divided into a few schedules.”
“Shahid has not only asked for a huge remuneration but also asked for a profit share. He is getting Rs 35 crore plus taxes as his fee, along with a 20 percent share in the film’s profits.” further adding.
Notably, Jersey received a lot of appreciation in Tollywood and it turned out to be a super hit movie. Karan Johar has reportedly bought the Hindi remake rights of the film. It is said that Shahid Kapoor had picked the remake of ‘Jersey’ much before Kabir Singh.
Recently a Bollywoodlife report claimed that Shahid had asked for Rs 40 crore for this remake which featured Nani and Shraddha Srinath in lead roles. Also, Karan Johar has already bagged rights for a Hindi remake of the film.
Jersey is about the protagonist named Arjun (played by Nani) and his struggles to make it big in Indian cricket. Shraddha Kapoor and Harish Kalyan will also be starring in the movie.
