Unable to meet favourite actor Shahrukh Khan, crazy fan slits throat in public

Bollywood is more than a mere film industry to India and its people, who live and breathe movies in their regular lives. Such is the aura of Hindi cinema in our country that people live and swear by it. The actors and actress of the film fraternity are nothing less than superheroes and divas to their fans, who leaves every stone unturned to meet their favourite movie star.

Many fans spend humungous money to get a glimpse of their hero, while others follow the lifestyle of their favourite actor from any particular movie. From clothing to talking, hairstyle to even beards, fans across the country has often treaded on unimaginable journeys to live up to their dreams of meeting their hero.

But very few would have done what a fan from Kolkata did after not getting to meet his king of dreams and his superhero Shahrukh Khan. The fan had reportedly travelled all the way from Kolkata to Mumbai to meet King Khan on the auspicious occasion of his birthday.

But not getting to meet him ended up in the fan slitting his throat in pain, reported India Times. A video from ANI shows the fan being carried away to the hospital in the police van.

The fan identified as Salim, reports the website, is 35-year-old and was standing outside Shahrukh’s house Mannat, to meet the star on his birthday. But despite the actor coming to his balcony to wish his fans on the early hours of his birthday, Salim failed to see him.

Shattered and broken in grief, he slit his throat right in front of the actor’s house. He was later taken to the Bhabha Hospital, where he was treated and discharged, said the website.
