Suriya Starrer Soorarai Pottru Not Releasing In 2020?

Fans of Suriya have been waiting with bated breath for more news about his upcoming project Soorarai Pottru. While the film was earlier slated to release on April 9, 2020 it has now been delayed due to the COVID-19 lockdown. There has been scarce news about the Sudha Kongara directorial since then. However, it now appears that fans may have to wait until next year to see the Suriya starrer Soorarai Pottru. According to reports, the film may not release until next year.

Meanwhile, reports also suggest that the team behind Soorarai Pottru is planning to release the film in January 2021. Moreover, fans would be glad to know that the makers also plan to release the trailer of Suriya’s film in December. Promotions for the film will begin a month before the release date.

However, there is no official confirmation of this news yet. Reports also state that the release date for Soorarai Pottru might be preponed depending on the COVID-19 situation.

Meanwhile, the makers had already confirmed that the fourth song from the film ‘Kaattu Payale’ will be releasing today on Suriya’s birthday. Also, a one-minute video from the song is being released for the fans.

Suriya’s Soorarai Pottru and Vijay’s Master were supposed to clash at the box office on April 9. The two stars command quite a massive fan following. Even released simultaneously, both films could have performed well due to this reason.  Vijay’s Master has been directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The film also stars Vijay Sethupathi, Malavika Mohanan, and Andrea Jeremiah in the pivotal roles.
