Tahira Kashyap Feels She Needs To Earn Her Right To Directing Husband Ayushmann Khurrana

Tahira Kashyap has impressed the audience with her direction skills in her short film Toffee and the Neena Gupta starrer Pinni. While there has been news that Tahira might be working on a feature film soon, she has revealed it wouldn’t be with husband Ayushmann Khurrana. She feels that the actor has way more experience and she has to earn the right to work with him.

Recently, Tahira spoke to TOI about the possibility of directing a feature film. “I am taking baby steps. I am slowly and gradually moving towards that direction. My films, ‘Toffee’ and ‘Pinni’ received a lot of love. I have written a couple of feature films. The intention is to make a feature film. Because of this lockdown, now there is a pause button on everybody’s lives. I don’t know what the future holds but the dreams and aspirations are certainly there.”

However, Tahira is not sure if she is ready to work with her husband Ayushmann Khurrana quite yet.

She stated, “I would really love to work with him from the perspective of directing a wonderful artist. He has grown tremendously as an artist. But at the same time, he is senior to me when it comes to working. So I need to earn myself a couple of films or a position where I deserve to direct him.”

Ayushmann Khurrana will next be seen in Gulabo Sitabo with Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan. The film has been directed by Shoojit Sircar. It will stream on Amazon Prime Video from June 12.
