Karan Johar shares the first look of his magnum opus ‘Takht’

Actor, Producer, Director, and much-loved host Karan Johar is currently working on his next dream project. It is a period drama titled Takht. The head honcho of Dharma Production has now announced the release date of the film along with the title teaser. The movie is scheduled to hit theatres around Christmas on December 24 next year.

The teaser shows a vacant throne with torches on both sides. Sharing the details of the film, Karan wrote on Twitter, “Presenting #TAKHT. Produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar & Apoorva Mehta. Screenplay by Sumit Roy. Starring Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, Janhvi Kapoor AND Anil Kapoor. Releasing Christmas, 24.12.2021.”

The minute-long teaser showcases the royal throne and a voiceover for the first look talks about a love story that couldn’t contain the violence for the ultimate throne.

‘Takht’ chronicles the story of the two warring Mughal princes, Aurangzeb and Dara Shikoh. Ranveer Singh plays Dara, Vicky Kaushal as Aurangzeb. Anil Kapoor plays Shah Jahan, Kareena Kapoor as Jahanara Begum and Alia Bhatt as Dilras Banu. Bhumi Pednekar and Janhvi Kapoor also feature in the cast.

Takht is scheduled to hit the screens on December 24, 2021.
