TMKOC: Jethalal aka Dilip Joshi made Bollywood debut with Salman Khan

‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ is one of the most popular shows of Indian Television. It began in the year 2008 and people are still not bored with it. Dayaben, Jethalal, Tapu, Bhide, Babita, Popatlal, and other characters are a household name now. One of the most popular characters is Jethalal played by actor Dilip Joshi. His dialogues ‘nonsense’ and ‘pagal aurat’ are viral on social media. But not many know that Dilip had marked his Bollywood debut with none other than superstar Salman Khan.

Yes, Dilip Joshi made his acting debut with Salman Khan and Bhagyashree’s film, ‘Maine Pyaar Kiya’. The film went on to be a blockbuster. Dilip played a small role of the servant Ramu in the Sooraj Barjatya film. Though he had no major dialogues in the popular film. Dilip left a mark with his acting skills and comic timings.

This is not the only film Dilip Joshi worked in with Salman Khan. The actor soon collaborated with the Dabangg Khan in another hit film. He was a part of Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit starrer Hum Aapke Hain Kaun. He played Madhuri’s cousin named Bhola Prasad. Dilip once again captured the audience’s heart with his funny antics.

Apart from this, he has also worked in Gujarati films, sixteen TV shows, and a number of hit Bollywood flicks. ‘Maine Pyaar Kiya’ also featured Alok Nath, Mohnish Bahl, Reema Lagoo, Rajeev Verma, Ajit Vachani, and Laxmikant Berde in pivotal roles.
