Yuvraj Singh who was the star of the 2011 world cup match has made an official statement about retiring from the game.

The player, who also fought and survived cancer, played for the nation and has set up a very important example for the young aspirants in the nation. His wife Hazel Keech has shared a moment from today’s event on her Instagram handle. She has captioned it as “And, with that, its the end of an era. Be proud of yourself husband, now onto the next chapter…. love you @yuvisofficial.”

Now that India is playing in London for this year’s World Cup, we do not see Yuvraj Singh as a part of the team this time. While he was at the press conference today, he told the media “After 25 years, I have decided to move on. Cricket has given me everything and is the reason why I stand here today,” adding, “I was extremely lucky to play 400 games for India. I could have never imagined it when I first started playing cricket.”

Yuvi also added “It was a love-hate relationship with this game. I can’t explain what it really means to me. This game taught me to fight. I have failed more times than I succeeded and I will never give up”.
