A prolific striker and a goal machine Ibrahimovic joined Lionel Messi and Cristiano as the only three current footballers to score 500 career goals. His mini round-kick that left rival goalkeeper Alex Bono stunned, was Ibrahimovic’s 17th goal of the season. It’s not the first time I’ve gotten a standing ovation from the away team,” said Ibrahimovic referring to the standing ovation he had received from the Toronto fans after his stunning strike.

“I am happy for Toronto because they will be remembered as my 500th victim.”

“I was close to the goal. It reminds me of a goal I did in Ajax,” he added. “It came from a cross and I turned around and I hit it. I was just trying to hit the goal and it went in,” he added.

The 36-year-old, who left Manchester United to join MLS side La Galaxy has now scored 17 goals in just 22 matches.

Of his 500 career goals, Ibrahimovic has scored 156 for Paris Saint-Germain, while only 18 and 22 came for Malmo Barcelona. The tall-striker has also scored 62 international goals for Sweden.

A report in ESPN enlisted the number of goals Zlatan has scored for each of the clubs he has played – Paris Saint-Germain (156 goals), Inter Milan (66), AC Milan (56), Ajax (48), Manchester United (29), Juventus (26), Barcelona (22), and Malmo (18).
