Ad Astra’s release date:

Currently, Walt Disney Studios is scheduled to release Ad Astra on September 20th, 2019. The film is coming out under the 20th Century Fox brand. The film’s UK release will come two days earlier on September 18th. The September release is the third revision for Ad Astra, which failed to make both its January and May targets.

The plot of Ad Astra:

Brad Pitt attempts to find his father Clifford (Tommy Lee Jones), who was lost while on a mission to discover alien life. In the intervening years, Earth has started suffering from something called “the surge,”. This may or may not have something to do with Pitt’s father’s experiments with a “highly classified material” that has the power to destroy the solar system.

Cast of Ad Astra:

In addition to Brad Pitt and Tommy Lee Jones, the Ad Astra cast includes Ruth Negga and Donald Sutherland. Liv Tyler plays McBride’s partner.  Malibu’s Most Wanted Jamie Kennedy, is also in the film. Details about these characters are not available.

Who made Ad Astra?

James Gray of ‘The Lost City of Z’, ‘The Immigrant,’ ‘Two Lovers’ has directed Ad Astra.  He has also  co-written the screenplay with Ethan Gross. Gray has previously worked with Pitt, who was an executive producer on ‘The Lost City of Z’.
