Akshay Kumar announces historical drama Prithviraj on 52nd birthday

Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has a gift for his fans on his 52nd birthday. The Khiladi announced the historical drama Prithviraj, where he will portray the titular role of the brave ruler. The historical, war drama is being produced by Yash Raj Films and will be directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi. The film will release on Diwali 2020.

Not many details about the film are out yet but there are reports which suggest that the film will revolve around the First Battle Of Tarain and is expected to go on floors by November this year. The biopic will be shot in Mumbai and Rajasthan. As per bhaskar.com, Sanjay could be seen playing the role of Muhammad Ghori.

Prithiviraj is considered one of the bravest rulers of the Chahamana dynasty and fought against the huge Ghurid army when they tried to invade the country in 1192 CE.

Akshay Kumar’s recent release Mission Mangal is reaping at the box-office. The movie has crossed Rs 170 crore and emerged as one of the biggest hits of his career. After ruling the box-office in 2019, the Khiladi is all set to rule 2020 too. He has booked Eid for ‘Laxxmi Bomb’, Diwali for ‘Prithviraj Chauhan’ and Christmas for ‘Bachchan Panday’.
