Amit Shah calls Immigrants as ‘termite’, Bangladesh Minister calls him not qualified

BJP Chief Amit Shah remark calling illegal immigrants as ‘termites’, eating country’s resources and would be identified and thrown out of the country. Bangladesh has wisely reacted to his statement and called Amit Shah, not qualified to speak on India and Bangladesh relationship.

Not every Bangla speaking citizen in India are Bangladeshis, Bangladesh Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu told NDTV. “Amit Shah has made an unwanted remark by describing Bangladeshis as termites. The comment is not proper,” he added.

“There is an information gap. We do not give any importance to his statement as it is not an official Indian government version,” Inu said and hoped Amit Shah’s party would “inform him” about the real situation.

He further said the India-Bangladesh relationship is excellent, and our foreign ministry will not take it up with India’s counterpart. And India had never taken up the issue of Bangla-speaking people with Dhaka.

BJP Chief while addressing a rally in Delhi had promised to throw out every single illegal immigrant out of the country if BJP returned to power in the  2019 Lok Sabha election. He also accused immigrants of carrying blast in our country and held responsible for rising unemployment in the country.

“These crores of illegal immigrants are like termites and they are eating the food that should go to our poor and they are taking our jobs,” Shah added.

In the same rally, Amit Shah also accused Congress president Rahul Gandhi and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of “complaining” whenever any action was taken because of vote politics.

He also applauded the BJP government in Assam for the revised National Register of Citizens and identifying “nearly 40 lakh” illegal immigrants. This was not the first time, he made similar remarks at a rally in Rajasthan.
