Viral video: Mob thrashes cops inside police station in Andhra Pradesh

With rising cases of mob lynching in the country, even the policemen are not safe. In a latest incident, people barged into a police station in Nellore district in Andhra Pradesh and were seen beating the sub inspector and a constable. The incident was caught on camera and became viral after it was shared on social media.

As per the information, reported by the The News Minute, a large group of people barged into the police station on Wednesday night. The people were angry after the Rapuru police station personnel arrested a person for questioning and had alleged that he was beaten.

The incident caught on camera shows the mob attacking the sub-inspector and a constable. In the video it is also clearly seen that the mob thrashing the policemen, almost tearing the shirt. The policeman trying to pacify the mob was punched several times.

Reacting to the incident, the Deputy Superintendent of Police Ram Babu said, “We had detained one man because he was drunk and had sent him to the hospital to get a certificate to complete one formality. However, the locals questioned the move to send him to the hospital and picked up a fight. They attacked the police station and dragged the SI out. The SI suffered a head injury while 3 constables also suffered minor injuries.”

“We will investigate the incident and find out who is responsible for the entire incident. We will punish those who we find guilty, according to the law,” reports TNM.
