The GRAMMYs, this year, were held on January 5 once again at the Los Angeles Convention Center but this time in Coronavirus precautions and for the ceremony, The Daily Show’s Trevor Noah made her debut as the host. This year was special with BTS as they were the first-ever South Korean band to perform their own song at the Grammys. The seven-member band was nominated for the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for ‘Dynamite.’

However, they failed to lose it to Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande who were nominated for ‘Rain on Me.’ The boy band performed the same song at the Grammys and this is for the first time that BTS performed one of its songs live. This did not go well with the BTS ARMY and they poured in love for the band even after not taking home the award for ‘Dynamite’. They also started trending hashtags like #BTSOurGreatestPrize and #LightItUpBTS on Twitter.

They performed virtually from Seoul, South Korea, and also delivered a mini-concert full of choreography. Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook came together for a crowd-pleasing performance on their popular hit ‘Dynamite.’ Last year, they made a performance cameo when they joined Lil Nas X for ‘Old Town Road.’

The GRAMMYs 2021 aired on Sunday night on CBS Television Network and Paramount+.
