Grammys 2021: Justin Bieber Joins The Weeknd In Boycotting The Awards
The 63rd Annual Grammy Awards is slated to take place on Sunday. Justin Bieber joins The Weeknd in boycotting this renowned award show for lacking in transparency with voting
The 63rd Annual Grammy Awards is slated to take place on Sunday at 8 pm ET/5 pm PT, March 14(March 15 for Indian audience). Biggies such as Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga, BTS and few others will perform on the stage. After The Weeknd and Zayn Malik recently called it a boycott, Justin Bieber joins in to reject this award show. Celebs have refused to perform on the Grammy’s stage because they have alleged the committee of not keeping transparency with voting and the diversity among nominees.
A latest report by Page Six stated that Justin Bieber has now decided to boycott the show entirely and he isn’t performing on this year’s Grammys stage. The Baby crooner had earlier said when the nominations were announced, that, “I am flattered to be acknowledged and appreciated for my artistry. I am very meticulous and intentional about my music. With that being said, I set out to make an R&B album. Changes was and is an R&B album. It is not being acknowledged as an R&B album, which is very strange to me.” Bieber has not officially posted anything on his social media handles about Boycotting the Grammy’s as of yet.
Talking about The Weeknd, in an interview to Billboards recently he stated that this year’s Grammy nominations “kind of hit me out of nowhere … I felt things. I don’t know if it was sadness or anger. I think it was just confusion. I just wanted answers.”
The Grammys remain corrupt. You owe me, my fans and the industry transparency…
