For the unversed, Donald Glover’s last Childish Gambino album was 2016’s “Awaken, My Love!” In 2019, he returned with the Hiro Murai-directed movie “Guava Island” which also co-starred Rihanna. Later, he also starred as Simba in “The Lion King” reboot.

In 2018, the singer had dropped the track “This Is America”, which instantly became a hit also directed by Hiro Murai. The song won four Grammy Awards at the 2019 edition: Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Rap/Sung Performance and Best Music Video.

“This Is America” features Donald Glover singing and rapping, attracting influence from trap music. The lyrics of the song addressed a diversity of topics including gun violence in the United States and being black in the United States.
