Thackeray wrote that the young generation is getting infected by the deadly virus, and he wants to prevent the spread for people above 25 years, thus they should be eligible for vaccination.  He also requested additional vaccine doses for six districts- Mumbai, Pune, Thane, Nashik, Nagpur, and Aurangabad, facing a surge in the state.

He also thanked Narendra Modi for accepting his proposal of allowing all persons above 45 years of age to be made eligible for COVID-19 vaccination. He apprised PM Modi that over 76 lakh people are vaccinated in the state till April 4. On April 3, 4.62 lakh people were vaccinated in Maharashtra, where 76.86 lakh people have received it so far.
