The temporary suspension on Indian flights by foreign countries has been because of the Delta Plus variant, which is reportedly more vulnerable in comparison to the other few variants of the COVID-19 virus. As per the current COVID-19 data, India recorded a decline in the outspread, however, experts from the health department have already alerted netizens about the expected third wave. On Monday, Etihad Airways Guest Relations while reacting to a concern of one of the passengers tweeted, “We’ve just received confirmation that flights from India are suspended till the 2nd August, and we are not entirely sure if this will be extended as it depends on the authorities.”

Earlier, UAE had banned its flight operations to India till July 31. On the other side, Canada also announced extending the suspension on Indian flights because of Delta Plus Variant last month.
