Thackeray said that there are 3,651 coronavirus cases in Maharashtra. Out of the total confirmed coronavirus cases in the state, 70-75 percent cases are asymptomatic while, 52 percent are in serious conditions. He added that non-COVID patients will be neglected during the pandemic.

Suggesting that few districts in Maharashtra have shown a decrease in the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases, CM Uddhav Thackeray said that the districts will be divided into red, orange and green zones. The state government has allowed certain economic activities in orange and green zones. But the district borders will remain closed.

The CM has issued a helpline for those facing mental health issues. Thackeray said: “If you are feeling any mental health issue, do call 1800 120 820050.”

Uddhav Thackeray also assured migrant labourers in the state that his government would ensure that they are sent home once the lockdown is lifted.

From 20 April the state government is planning to restart commercial, industrial activities in few districts.

The number of coronavirus cases in India has climbed to 15,712, which includes 507 deaths. With over 3,600 COVID-19 cases, Maharashtra continues to remain the worst-hit state in the country. The number of cases in Mumbai’s Dharavi, Asia’s largest slum rose to 117 on Saturday.

Worldwide, over 1.5 lakh people have died due to coronavirus, which originated in China’s Wuhan city in December; more than 20 lakh are infected.
