Cricketer Irfan Pathan to try his hand at acting
Indian fast bowler Irfan Pathan is set to make his acting debut alongside legendary actor Vikram. The film will be directed by Ajay Gnanmuthu and star the cricketer in an action-packed avatar.

The movie would be produced by 7 screen Studios in association with Viacom 18. Oscar-winning composer, AR Rahman will compose the music for the film. Vikram will be sporting many different looks in the film.
The film is tentatively titled Vikram 58. The principal photography for the film will begin soon, and the shooting will be done in multiple locations across India and abroad, states a press release. Sivakumar Vijayan will handle the camerawork for the film.
Gnanamuthu tweeted: “Welcome on board @IrfanPathan Can’t wait to unleash your new avatar to the audience!! Time for some solid action!!.” The director also tweeted a picture of himself and Pathan.
“Proud and honoured to introduce @IrfanPathan in #ChiyaanVikram58 in a super stylish action avatar!! Welcome on Board sir and wish you a sensational debut,” the film’s co-producer Seven Screen Studio said on Twitter.

Taran Adarsh, the renowned film analyst, confirmed the news of Pathan’s acting debut via Twitter.

Gnanamuthu has previously directed critically acclaimed “Demonte Colony’ and ‘Imaikka Nodigal’. Director Anurag Kashyap played a leading role in Imaikka Nodigal.
Announcing his decision, Irrfan Pathan posted a video with a caption that read: “New venture, new challenge looking forward to it”.

Meanwhile, cricketer Harbhajan Singh will also debut in Dikkiloona, directed by Karthik Yogi and produced by KJR Studios and Soldiers Factory according to The Hindu.
