Darbar: Suniel Shetty to play antagonist in Rajinikanth starrer

AR Murugadoss and Rajinikanth have come together for ‘Darbar’ and it raised the excitement level of the fans to a new high. The shoot of the film commenced from mid-April in Mumbai. The team was joined by South star Nayanthara who is playing the leading lady. We now hear that Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty has joined the cast of ‘Darbar’ as the main antagonist. He is depicting the role of Prateil Babbar’s father in the film.

As reported by a source to Mumbai Mirror, “Suniel Shetty will play the role of Anna while Rajinikanth will be seen as an IPS officer. Anna, a corporate giant, will take on Thalaivar’s IPS officer. He joins the team during the second schedule which starts in the next few days in Mumbai and will be there all through.”

The report further added, “Suniel Shetty is trying to bulk up for his role in Darbar. The antagonist’s track has an emotional back-story also featuring Rajinikanth, which makes the revenge all the more exciting. There will be several confrontation scenes between the duo in the film which climaxes with a stylized, larger than life action scene. ”

Produced by Lyca Productions, Darbar also has Nayanthara, Yogi Babu, Prakash Raj and Dalip Tahil in pivotal roles. The film has music by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Santosh Sivan and editing by Sreekar Prasad.

Recently Suniel Shetty had shared his first look from his Kannada debut film Pailwan. The actor will be seen depicting the role of Sarkar in South star Sudeep’s film.
