Differently abled couple from Bihar seeks Government’s help

From the learned land of Bihar comes a heartwrenching story of poverty in which, a differently-abled couple pleaded the government to provide them a plot of land to stay. Ajay and Anita, are both deprived as well as disadvantaged citizens of India who said that they face a lot of financial problems on a daily basis. The couple got married in 2013 and have two children; however, they are not able to raise them. They want their children to have a proper education but they cannot afford it.

As reported in ANI, the differently-abled couple said, “We got married in 2013 and have two children. We face a lot of financial problems in raising them. We want to send our children to school”. The couple lives in Gaya district of Bihar, around a hundred km away from the state capital, Patna.

Ajay works in a petrol pump. He receives a meager salary which goes into the daily expenditure of the household. The man receives mere 400 rupees in the name of pension from the government. The couple doesn’t even own a BPL card. He narrated his ordeal saying, “I work in a petrol pump and run this house with the salary I receive. I get only Rs 400 as pension from the govt. I don’t even have BPL card”. He further requested from the authorities to help him, “I request the government to help us.”

We can only hope that this couple’s cries and pleas are heard by the government and a provision is made considering their extremities. As per a report of World Bank, Bihar is the 3rd most populous state in India. It is home to over 100 million people, 36 million of whom are poor. Not only this, Bihar is also one of the faster growing ‘Low Income States’ in India.
