Dostana 2: TV actor Lakshya marks Bollywood debut

Karan Johar had announced the sequel of his much-loved film Dostana that had hit the screens 11 years ago. He had roped in Kartik Aaryan and Janhvi Kapoor to share screen space for the first time. After months of speculations, the filmmaker has finally revealed the third lead and he is television actor Lakshya.

Karan Johar took to his Twitter handle to share the news. Karan has revealed that newbie Lakshya will be the “suitable boy” in Dostana 2.

Lakshya is the third big debutant that Karan is introducing this year after Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria. The actor was formerly known as Laksh Lalwani. He shot to fame with his role in MTV Warrior High. He was also seen in TV shows like Pardes Mein Hai Mera Dil, Adhuri Kahaani Hamari and Porus. He also had a small role in Shraddha Kapoor’s ‘Haseena Parkar’.

Lakshya has signed a four-film contract with Dharma, which includes films and digital projects.

Helmed by Collin D’ Cunha, ‘Dostana 2’ is produced by Karan Johar, Hiroo Johar and Apoorva Mehta. It is slated to release in 2020 and will go on floors soon.
