Eid 2019 Clash: Salman Khan’s Bharat vs Sophie Turner’s Dark Phoenix

Superstar Salman Khan‘s upcoming period drama ‘Bharat’ is all set to hit the theaters this June. The Ali Abbas Zafar directorial is one of the most awaited film of the year. But it seems that the Dabangg Khan will not have a solo release. Yes, Bharat is all set to clash with Game Of Thrones star Sophie Turner’s ‘X-Men: Dark Phoenix.’

Trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh announced the release date of Sophie Turner’s movie on his social media account and wrote, “Arriving on Eid 2019, X Men: Dark Phoenix to release on 5th June 2019 in English, Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil… Here`s the Hindi poster.”

But this clash is a major source of worry for the theater owners. It is also causing tension between Fox Star Studios and Anil Thadani who is distributing Bharat.

As reported by a source to Mensxp, “Anil Thadani has told the exhibitors that if they didn’t give full shows to Bharat, he won’t give them the Friday release ‘De De Pyaar De’. It’s not just Anil, but Fox is also creating troubles. So, Fox has asked exhibitors and distributors to give ‘Dark Phoenix’ two shows during Eid. If the exhibitors fail to do so, Fox will not be giving their major releases that include ‘India’s Most Wanted’, ‘Brahmastra’ and ‘Mission Mangal‘”.

Single screen theatres are also facing a dilemma, Salman Khan is a major puller of crowds and his films have always rocked the box office. Now Fox Star wants at least two shows of ‘Dark Phoenix’ on single screens. But that means the theatre owners will have to cut back ‘Bharat’ shows that they are unwilling to do so.

We do hope the issue is resolved amicably as the fans of Salman Khan and Dark Phoenix will be majorly disappointed if they have to choose between the two
