Ever since the makers have unveiled the poster of ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, featuring Alia Bhatt in a never before seen avatar the film has become quite an anticipation among audience. The actress’ never before seen avatar has surely piqued the interest of the audience and the cherry on the top is Sanjay Leele Bhansali himself helming the project. To add much to the excitements of the cine-buff’s, Emraan Hashmi is said to have bagged a prominent role in the film, alongside Ajay Devgn.

Alia Bhatt and his cousin, Emraan would be sharing the screen space for the first time if these reports come true. As per the latest report in Peeping Moon, the makers have now brought Emraan on board for the film. The actor will be portraying the role of Alia’s onscreen husband and he is the villain in the film. The actor will be playing Gangubai’s father’s accountant who later falls in love with her and they run away to Mumbai.
According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, a source close to the development informed them, “While Emraan has already shot for his portions silently earlier this year with Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn is expected to join Alia and co. once the shooting resumes post lockdown. Ajay plays the character of a gangster, Karim Lala, while not much is known about Emraan’s role. Both their characters have their own swag, style and SLB felt that the two actors fit the bill perfectly.”
After the blockbuster collaboration of Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Salman Khan’s ‘Inshallah’ went on hold, there is quite an anticipation for this film to be unveiled. It is belived that the characters set around the life of Gangubai in the film, add more drama to the story. We are waiting for the official confirmation on the same.
