But as per recent reports, the new strain may be airborne. It can spread through fine infected droplets that remain suspended in the air. They are mostly found in air-conditioned offices, AC cabs-buses, shopping malls, and theatres.

Amid the fears of the fresh surge in Covid-19 cases, how can you protect yourself? Here are some tips to protect yourself and your near and dear ones from catching and spreading the virus.

Preventive Measures:

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick, coughing, or sneezing.
  • Use a facemask when in crowded areas
  • Keep a distance of 6 feet from others when out of the house.
  • Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
  • Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 70% alcohol while travelling
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth
  • Clean frequently touched surfaces such as tabletops, phones, doorknobs
  • Avoid sharing personal items like glasses, dishes, etc.
  • Do not eat raw or undercooked animal products
  • Closed spaces with central air-conditioning like offices, malls, etc should be avoided..
