India’s squad for West Indies Tour 2019: BCCI Chief selector MSK Prasad has finally announced the names of all the players who will play India vs West Indies matches starting from 3rd August 2019. Putting speculation to rest, MSK Prasad announced that Virat Kohli will lead team India in all the format against Ind vs WI Tour 2019.

Hardik Pandya has been given a rest for the entire series whereas Jasprit Bumrah will only be seen playing Test matches against West Indies. Meanwhile, Shikhar Dhawan, who was injured during ICC World Cup 2019 has been recovered completely and will be available for all the three formats. 

The are several players who were not inducted in Team India during ICC World Cup 2019 have been included in the team India squad for West Indies Tour 2019.  Shreyas Iyer, Manish Pandey, Washington Sundar, and Navdeep Saini are the new faces that have been included in the squad for the limited-overs.

Dinesh Karthi, who was given chance in recently concluded World Cup, has been ignored for West Indies Tour. MS Dhoni also will not travel with the team and as per reports, the former Indian skipper has decided to spend the next two months with his regiment.

Wriddhiman Saha will be seen making his comeback almost a gap of more than a year. The 34-year-old Bengali wicketkeeper-batsman has been included in the Test squad along with Rishabh Pant.

India vs West Indies Tours starts with three T20Is, which will be followed by three ODIs and two Tests. It’s a month-long tour with the final Test starting on August 30.
