International Emmy Awards 2021: Aarya, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Vir Das bag noms; Sushmita Sen reacts

The nominations for the prestigious International Emmy Awards 2021 were announced on Thursday. India has bagged three nominations. Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, comedian Vir Das, and Ram Madhvani’s show Aarya are the three who have been nominated for the coveted awards.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui has been nominated in the Best Performance by an Actor category for Serious Men. Vir Das has been nominated in the Comedy section for his Netflix special Vir Das: For India. Disney Plus Hotstar series Aarya, starring Sushmita Sen in the lead role, has received a nomination in the Best Drama Series category. An official remake of the popular Dutch crime-drama Penoza, Aarya marked Sushmita’s return to acting after several years.

The actress soon took to social media to express her delight. She also congratulated Nawauddin Siddiqui and Vir Das. The actress wrote, “OMGGGGGG!!!! The Winners of the International Emmy Awards will be announced on November 22 in New York by the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
