Courtesy this 2-1 win, Pune now move to the eighth place in the table. Jamshedpur in the meantime remained at the fourth place with 11 points gained from eight matches.

For Pune, the first goal came through Diego Carlos in the fifth minute but the scores were levelled just five minutes later by Sumeet Passi. It all went down to the 86th minute when the winner was found through Mat Mills who handed the team its very first victory this season.

Carlos, returning from a suspension didn’t time to get off the mark as he cut through the defence and scored from outside the box to hand his team the lead at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex.

However, Jamshedpur could have levelled the scores in the eighth minute itself when Tiri put in a long ball for Sumeet Passi but Pune goalkeeper Kamaljit Singh was there to quickly avert any danger. Marcelinho at the other end threatened to score but Subrata Paul stood up to the task this time.
Two minutes later, an unmarked Passi was found by Carlos Salvo and a strong header from the Indian equalled the spoils for Jamshedpur.

Pune’s Ashique Kuruniyan came up with a volley but the crossbar came to Jamshedpur’s rescue.

Pune went into the break as the dominant side but the match evened out after the interval with Jerry Mawihmingthanga had a shot at the goal which went just wide. The visitors continuously threatened to take that lead with the score locked at 1-1 and it was Jerry once again who was in the scheme of things but Kamaljit once again came to the rescue for his side.

After 60 minutes, Robin Singh came close to giving Pune the lead from a cross by Ashique but his header just went over. But in the 86th minute, all their repeated efforts bore fruit when Marko Stankovic came up with a corner that was given a proper direction by Mills as the Stallions took all three points from a match for the first time this season. At the opposite end, it was Jamshedpur who lost their first match so far.
