Her agency, EDAM Entertainment has also officially announced the release date in a statement on behalf of the singer.

Recently, IU marked her presence at the 35th Golden Disk Awards, wherein she revealed that she is planning to release her new album soon. She also teased her fans stating that she planning to drop a pre-release song. On Monday, her agency, EDAM Entertainment shared in a statement that, “EDAM Entertainment officially announced, “IU is currently in the midst of preparations for her fifth full-length album, and she will be pre-releasing one song from that album on January 27. The song has a bright and cheerful pop sound that can energize those listening to it. It’s a genre of music that IU is trying for the first time.”

Most recently IU collaborated with BTS member Suga for the song, Eight. The song was set in the backdrop of her going back to get memory lane just to feel happiness and warm phase of her life. Her upcoming full length album would mark her comeback after three years, as she had last released her full length album Pallet in 2017. She is yet to share inside details about her new album.
