Joker India Release Date Brought Forward to October 2 (Gandhi Jayanti)

Joker — one of the much-awaited Hollywood movies — has got a new release date in India. Directed by Toff Phillips, the psychological thriller Joker, which was supposed to hit the theatres on October 4, is now going to release on 2nd October (Gandhi Jayanti) in India.

The film is said to be based on DC Comics characters, which features Joaquin Phoenix as the Joker. The makers of the film have decided to prepone it in India considering October 2 as a national holiday. Notably, Jokar is now going to clash with Tiger Shroff and Hrithik Roshan’s upcoming film War, which is also slated to release on the same day.

The announcement of Joker’s new India release date was made on Warner Bros’ official Twitter account today.

It is to be noted, Besides Joker, Warner Bros has several movies lined up including Margot Robbie-led Birds of Prey in February 2020, the sequel Wonder Woman 1984 in June 2020, Robert Pattinson-starrer reboot The Batman in June 2021, James Gunn-helmed soft reboot The Suicide Squad in August 2021, and the Jason Momoa-led Aquaman 2 in December 2022.

Apart from the lead actor Phoenix, the movie also stars Robert De Niro, Bill Camp, Frances Conroy, Brett Cullen, Glenn Fleshler, Douglas Hodge, Marc Maron, Josh Pais, and Shea Whigham.

Produced alongside Bradley Cooper under their Joint Effort banner, and Emma Tillinger Koskoff, Joker has created a lot of buzz and likely to turn out one of the biggest movies of 2019.
