The suicide attack took place at the Mawoud Educational Academy in the Dasht-e-Barchi locality of Kabul’s PD-18 area, According to Afghanistani news media reports, the attack happened just after 4 pm. The Taliban have reportedly denied their involvement in the attack.

As per reports say there were about 100 students in the classroom at the time of the attack. It has been estimated that the average age of the students was about 18.

However, other online organisations have claimed that the attack could be undertaken by Islamic separatist. The suicide bomb was set off in a Shia-run institution in what some media characterised as a Shia area of Kabul.

Images on social media show chaos in the classroom, the pictures show that the roof of the room has collapsed. Previously, an explosion had occurred near Kabul’s international airport shortly after Afghan Vice President Rashid Dostum returned to the country after more than a year in exile. The officials confirmed 11 dead, 14 wounded. Earlier this month an Indian was killed in the kidnapping and killing of three people in Kabul, Afghanistan. The three killed people were employed at an international food company in the Afghan capital, Kabul.
