England defender Luke Shaw’s much-awaited comeback in the national team was spoilt and it was an injury concern once again after a nasty collision led to some lengthy treatment on the pitch during the UEFA Nations League fixture against Spain on Saturday.

But the Manchester United left-back took to Twitter to clear the cloud over his injury as he tweeted, “Thank you for all the love and support I am doing fine and am in the best hands.

“I’m a fighter so I will be back soon,” his tweet further read.

But the fact that Shaw was knocked out cold at the Wembley Stadium in their 1-2 loss to Spain left England coach Gareth Southgate wondering the extent of his injury as he added that the 23-year old would be looked after by medics.

“He is sat up in the dressing room talking and seems fairly comfortable,” Southgate, as quoted by The Indian Express said.

“It was a nasty looking fall and collision,” he further added.

Shaw’s head bounced off the ground after his clash against Spain’s Dani Carvajal and he had to be stretchered out in an oxygen mask after the horrific injury.

Shaw would have definitely impressed his manager at United Jose Mourinho who was at the stands watching the game, as his assist was pounced upon by the young Marcus Rashford who gave England a 1-0 lead. But goals from Saul Niguez and Rodrigo ensured that the visitors walked away victorious.
