The record was earlier held by former Mumbai cricketer Amol Mazumdar who had notched up 260 against Haryana in Faridabad, way back in 1994.
Rohera’s knock, which comprised of 345 balls and consumed 21 fours and five sixes helped Madhya Pradesh rack up a first innings score of 562/4. Hyderabad had scored 124 in their first innings.

The bowlers complemented the effort put in by the young Rohera as they skittled out Hyderabad for a paltry 185 in their second innings to set up a massive win by an innings and 253 runs.

He was later adjudged man of the match for his historic effort.
He was later contacted over the phone by PTI to whom he said, “It is a great feeling for me as a debutant. It is a memorable innings for my association (team). I’ll try and continue to bat (in the same way ahead).”

Besides notching up his highest score in first-class cricket, the 21-year old Rohera also created another record–by becoming the highest individual scorer for Madhya Pradesh as he went past 265 that had come from the bat of JP Yadav.
