Mahesh Babu’s Mother and Veteran Actress-Director Vijaya Nirmala Dies at 73
The step mother of Mahesh Babu and popular actress Vijaya Nirmala breathed her last today in Hyderabad
The mother of South superstar Mahesh Babu and popular director-actress G Vijaya Nirmala has passed away today. Mahesh Babu’s mom was 73-year old at the time of her death. According to reports, Vijaya Nirmala was suffering from age-related illness and was admitted to the Continental Hospital in Gachibowlii, where she is reported to have suffered a heart attack and left for heavenly abode.
Mahesh Babu’s mother, Vijaya Nirmala is survived by her husband Krishna and son Vijaya Naresh. Notably, Mahesh Babu and Manjula Ghattamaneni are her step-children.
If the report is to be believed, her mortal remains will be taken to her residence at her home at around 11 AM. They live in Nanakramugda and the funeral will be held tomorrow.
Condemning the demise of Mahesh Babu’s mother, several celebrities took to their social media account and expressed their grief over her sudden demise.
Talking about Vijaya Nirmala, she was a trailblazer in the Tollywood industry. She had debuted in Kollywood when she was just seven years old in a film titled Matsyarekha. After making her debut, she worked in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam films. Yes, she has worked in more than 200 movies.
Apart from acting in movies, Nirmala went on to work as a director and producer. According to reports, she had directed 44 Telugu films and entered the Guinness Book of World Records for being a female director to do the most number of films.
Owing to her outstanding contribution to the Telugu film industry, in the year 2008, she was conferred with Raghupathi Venkaiah Award.
