While talking to reporters on Thursday, Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge said that the party will bring opposition together to raise Rafale jet deal issue in the winter session of the Parliament. He said, “We have been saying for long that #Rafale jet deal is a huge scam. We will raise this issue in the winter session of the Parliament. We will try to bring the Opposition together on this issue.”

Union Minister Vijay Goel on Wednesday told the news agency ANI that the Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs (CCPA) has decided that next Winter Session of the Parliament will be held from 11th December 2018 to 8th January 2019.

Importantly, this would be the last full-fledged Parliament session of the Narendra Modi-led government before the next Lok Sabha polls.

The PM Modi-led NDA government would push for the passage of the Triple Talaq bill pending in the Rajya Sabha. It had promulgated an ordinance to make the practice of instant triple talaq a penal offence. The government also wants the Indian Medical Council amendment ordinance and the companies amendment ordinance to be passed as bills in this session.

The winter session of Parliament usually starts in November. However, it would be the second year in a row when it would begin in December. The session was delayed this year due to the Assembly elections in five states.
