Fearing leak, makers tighten security on the sets of “Mardaani 2”
Security on sets of the film “Mardaani 2” tightened
After impressing fans and critics alike for her performance in ‘Hichki’ as a teacher suffering from Tourette Syndrome, Rani Mukerji on Saturday last week started the shooting for hit cop drama Mardaani‘s sequel “Mardaani 2”. She will once again be seen reprising the role of Senior Inspector of the Mumbai Crime Branch, Shivani Shivaji Roy. Also, the security on the sets of the film “Mardaani 2” has been tightened from the day when Rani Mukerji began shooting for the film.
Deccan Chronicle quoted a trade source as saying, “The security has been doubled because the makers do not want anything to leak from the sets as happened with Thugs of Hindostan when a few things had come out. It is also a night shoot that went on the floors on Saturday and there are a few surprises in the film’s casting that the makers are guarding.”
The story moves on from the first part with Rani essaying the role of superintendent Shivani Shivaji Roy. Ahaan Pandey, Chunkey Pandey’s nephew is being rumoured to be cast in this instalment of the film.
It is to be noted that “Mardaani 2” was announced last year in the month of December. The film is being produced by Aditya Chopra under his home banner Yash Raj Films. Interestingly, the first part of “Mardaani” was directed by Pradeep Sarkar and the sequel is being directed by his associate and the writer of the first part Gopi Puthran.
