Maruti Suzuki to recall 1,200 new Swift, Dzire models

Maruti Suzuki is set to recall 1,279 units of new Swift and Dzire models in an effect to inspect a possible fault in Airbag Controller Unit.

A Maruti Suzuki spokesperson said in a statement, ‘1,279 vehicles (566 new Swift and 713 new D’zire) manufactured between May 7, 2018, and July 5, 2018, will be covered in this campaign.’

From July 25 onwards, Maruti Suzuki dealers will contact the vehicle owners included in this campaign for inspection and replacement of the faulty part free of cost

The new Dzire was launched last year, while the new Swift was launched in February this year.

The spokesperson further added, “Owners of new Dzire and new Swift can visit the company’s website, fill in the chassis number which is embossed on the vehicle’s ID plate and it is also mentioned in the vehicle invoice/registration documents. For new Swift – MBH and for Dzire – MA3 followed by 14 digit alpha-numeric number.”

To ascertain if their vehicle is among the above vehicles, the customers may also the nearest Maruti Suzuki dealer workshop.
