Meghan Markle files complaint against Piers Morgan after he quits ITV

Meghan Markle filed a formal complaint with British broadcaster ITV after Piers Morgan criticized her claims against the royal family


Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey has taken the internet by storm. The interview received mixed reactions from fans and friends. While some supported them, while some slammed the duo. To join them, TV personality Piers Morgans, criticized her claims against the royal family and later quit as host of Good Morning Britain on Tuesday. His co-host Alex Beresford also called him out for constantly slamming Meghan after which he then stormed off the set.

Now, according to the reports, Meghan Markle has filed a formal complaint with British broadcaster ITV. The complaint was confirmed by ITV’s Royal Editor Chris Ship, reported the Mirror.  The complaint stated how his remarks may affect those trying to deal with their own mental health problems.

Chris Ship wrote on Twitter: “So … the Duchess of Sussex formally filed a complaint to @ITV on Monday. It’s thought to have been sent to the broadcaster’s CEO. Meghan raised concerns about how @piersmorgan’s words affect the issue of mental health and what it might do to others contemplating suicide.”

After Pier stormed out from the set, he refuses to back down on the statement he made against Meghan Markle post the interview. Morgan tweeted, on Monday: “On Monday, I said I didn’t believe Meghan Markle in her Oprah interview. I’ve had time to reflect on this opinion, and I still don’t. If you did, OK. Freedom of speech is a hill I’m happy to die on. Thanks for all the love, and hate. I’m off to spend more time with my opinions.”
