Mithun Chakraborty’s father Basantakumar Chakraborty passed away in Mumbai on Tuesday due to age-related ailments. He was 95 at the time of death. The actor is stuck in Bengaluru due to the nationwide lockdown and is trying to get back to Mumbai to perform the last rites of his father. Mithun was in Bengaluru for a shoot. Mithun’s younger son Namashi Chakraborty confirmed the death of his grandfather to ABP news.

Basantakumar Chakraborty is survived by his wife Santimoyee Chakraborty, his eldest son Mithun and his family.
