Condemning the violent incident, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said, “It is an inhuman act and whoever is responsible for the criminal violent act, stern measures should be taken against them.” “The state government has already said sternest action will be initiated,” he added.

The Minister further said, “During such violence, they are killing not just people, but also humanity.” He also appealed to people to remain united and be cautious of such elements and give a befitting reply to those who are trying to destroy the social fabric of the country.

The statement from the Union Minister comes a day after Police inspector Subodh Kumar Singh met a violent end during clashes erupted over a cow carcass in Sayna village of Bulandshahar. Four people were arrested after police lodged an FIR against over two dozen people for rioting and murder in connection with the violence.

It is to be noted that Subodh Kumar Singh had also probed the Akhlaq lynching case of Dadri initially. Originally a resident of Targana village in Etah, Singh joined UP Police in 1998 and spent a considerable period of his police career in the Meerut zone, including Meerut, Saharanpur and Muzaffarnagar districts.
