Viral Video: Patients Are Kept Lying Just Beside Corpses During The Coronavirus Pandemic

The outbreak of novel coronavirus has already created a panic like situations all across the globe. While nations have been taking preventive measures in order to stop the spreading of the disease, shocking videos have been going viral on social media that show how the situations have got worsened at the government hospitals. A video from the Mumbai’s renowned hospital is making headlines today, where the patients are kept lying beside the corpses.

Its a known fact that the hospital staff is going through a tough time and the frontline workers are doing their best during the pandemic. What’s more scaring is when the hospitals are lacking with the resources to treat their patients well. In the viral video from Mumbai’s Sion hospital, at least seven to eight corpses can be seen in the ward. These corpses are kept just beside the patients who are treated in the adjoining beds. The hospital staff and the family members of these patients are walking around, while there are dead bodies kept in the ward here and there.

Sion Hospital’s dean Pramod Ingale clarified that the relatives of those who lost their lives due to coronavirus were hesitant to take the dead bodies. “That is the reason why the bodies were kept there unattended. We have now removed the bodies and are probing the matter,” he told news agency PTI.
