Mumbai recorded a heavy rainfall with the start of August. The first week witnessed a dramatic pouring, which resulted into the disruption of suburban trains, bus services and water logging on roads. Following this, Maharashtra CM, Uddhav Thackeray has even asked people to stay indoors and to be safe during thunder, strong winds. According to the latest reports, the average rainfall for the month of August can been covered just in seven days.

According to a latest report in TOI, the India Meteorological Department of Santacruz observed 286mm of rain in the last 24-hour period ending on Tuesday 8am and 162mm of rain in a 24-hours span ending on Thursday 8am-together they had contributed to over 70% of the normal average August rain.

Reportedly, the Indian Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to very heavy falls over Uttarakhand during 8-10 August. Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh will experience widespread rainfall on the 9th and 10th August. Following the same, safety guidelines for the coastal reasons have also been issued.
