Legendary Malayalam Actor Nedumudi Venu Passes Away At 73

National Award-winning actor Nedumudi Venu died at the age of 73 at a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram on Monday.

In an unfortunate turn of events, Nedumudi Venu passed away at the age of 73 at a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram on Monday. He was previously hospitalized because of health complications and was in treatment for liver-related ailments after recovering from COVID-19 prior to his death.

He acted in more than 500 films, primarily in Malayalam and also in Tamil. He wrote screenplays and directed one film. He won three National Film Awards and six Kerala State Film Awards for his various performances.

He debuted in the film ‘Thambu’ (1978), by director G Aravindan. His acting skills were showcased in the Bharathan film ‘Aaravam’. ‘Padmarajan’s Oridathoru Phayalwan’ and ‘Kallan Pavithran’ set a milestone for him.

Nedumudi Venu won three National Film Awards, and six Kerala State Film Awards for his performances.

Soon after the news of Nedumudi Venu’s death, many celebrities from the South industry poured their condolences to the veteran actor on social media.
